Full Moon in Cancer
Full Moon in Cancer was actually last night, sorry I’m late, here’s my ideas! The moon in cancer brings us purity and newness in our emotions. Cancer is the bubbling fresh water spring. It’s pure, it’s sacred, and it’s vulnerable. All those places where you feel really vulnerable are getting a little fresh moonlight now. Parts of the self that don’t see the light too often are going to feel a little awkward, but reflected light makes everything look sparkly and graceful. Love your faults. They make you unique.
For most of us, though, there are still parts of ourselves we’d like to change and let go of, old habits that tie us down. Saturn shifted in November into a water sign, so having the moon hit the cardinal water sign, the beginning of water in the zodiac, gives us a chance to build new emotional bonds. It helps ease some of the change. Moon in Cancer gives us a moment to relax and renew and let go of the old. It’s a moment to wash away the connection to the parts of ourselves we don’t need. Truly, deeply, let go. The first step in change is releasing the old, purifying the earth to make way for the new seeds.
Moon in Cancer is also a time for deepening new friendships. Showing vulnerabilities to new people will empower us right now, and give us a chance for change and deep connection. Not saying you should run out and tell everyone you just met your dirtiest secrets, but maybe you should invite that new neighbor over for a beer by the fire, even though you’re not feeling totally at your best. Feel free to hibernate and cleanse if you need to, but keep in mind that this is a time where your vulnerabilities are your greatest strengths, as long as you wear them on your sleeve.
Happy Full Moon in Cancer!
